VMSDEP

Be sure to read ALL the tabs on the VMSDEP Information page, as they include the due dates for registering and applying each year.
How to Apply:

Veteran registers for a VMSDEP Account HERE by clicking "Sign Up" next to the blue Login button.

Veteran logs on HERE and submits documents for Veteran Verification (usually a copy of your DD-214, your letter from the VA that describes the disabilities for which you are rated, and documents that prove residency for the previous 5 years).

Dependent registers for a VMSDEP Account HERE (again, by clicking "Sign Up" next to the blue Login button)

Dependent applies by logging in HERE, and links the account to the veteran's (usually with a birth certificate) and provides the necessary college information. See additional info HERE.

Once the application status has been updated, the dependent will receive an e-mail.

Update your enrollment information each semester you intend to use your VMSDEP benefits (starting July 1st for the fall semester, November 1st for the spring, and April 1st for the summer terms). After you have completed the listed instructions, you must contact the attending school(s) for detailed information pertaining to your student account balance. If you do not complete your enrollment update by the listed Close (Due by) date and time (HERE) you must request retroactive approval from your attending Virginia public college or university; and if approved, the respective institution will notify the VMSDEP Office of such approval; upon which, the Office will authorize the qualifying semester.
